A Nation In Decline – But It’s Not Too Late

It. Is. Not. Too. Late.

If we act NOW.

Welcome back, scholars. Let’s cut through the noise. The past week has been relentless, with the current administration’s authoritarian overreach growing bolder by the day. What should terrify all of us isn’t just the power grab—it’s the eerie silence from everyday people, going about their lives as if the world isn’t on fire. That casual indifference? That, more than anything, should jolt us awake.

Interest Convergence in Reverse

Legal scholar Derrick Bell’s theory of interest convergence explains that marginalized groups only see progress when it aligns with the interests of those in power. But today, we’re watching that theory play out in reverse.

Latinos, Black voters, White LGBT individuals, women—many once believed they had a seat at the table in Jimmy Kuresh’s vision for America. Now, the truth is undeniable: They were never meant to be part of it. They were tools—needed for votes, discarded once their usefulness expired.

Can you imagine the crushing realization that the movement you championed never had space for you? That you were nothing more than a pawn in a much larger game? If you’re seeing it now, there’s no shame in admitting you were manipulated. The real shame would be seeing the truth and doing nothing about it.

Normalizing Racism and Whitewashing Hate

Take the recent case of a 25-year-old who resigned after making racist comments—only to be rehired by none other than Shadow King, the acting president in everything but name.

That’s where we are: Racism isn’t just tolerated; it’s rewarded.

And let’s be clear: This isn’t about slip-ups or isolated incidents. It’s a deliberate strategy. Hate is being repackaged, normalized, and protected under the guise of free speech and forgiveness. The outrage cycle repeats, but nothing changes because these actions aren’t accidents. They’re calculated.

Jim Crow 3.0? No—It’s Deeper Than That.

I used to call this moment Jim Crow 3.0, but that label doesn’t fully capture the darkness ahead. We’re not just witnessing a return to segregation; we’re watching an engineered regression to an era where Black and Brown people weren’t just second-class citizens but property.

And unlike the blatant signs of segregation from the past, today’s oppression is strategic, hidden behind legal loopholes and economic warfare. They’re deporting people who perform critical jobs, slashing student aid, gutting healthcare protections, and dismantling equal opportunity laws—all while setting the stage for Black and Brown communities to take on labor eerily reminiscent of the plantation economy.

Education won’t save you. Skills won’t save you. The message is clear: No matter what you achieve, you are still expendable.

Prepare for Black Laws 2.0

Think you’ll resist? Let me remind you—resistance will land you in prison. History students should recognize what’s happening: They’re laying the foundation for a new version of Black Codes.

But this time, they’ve learned from the past. No more Selma bridge moments to stir the conscience of White America. No viral images of police dogs and fire hoses. This crackdown will be quieter, deadlier, and fully legal.

If you don’t believe me, watch a documentary on El Salvador’s prisons. That’s the model.

Call It What It Is: A Cult

Let’s stop pretending MAGA is just another political movement. It’s a cult.

A cult demands absolute loyalty to one leader. It warps reality. It punishes dissent. Sound familiar? Think David Koresh. Think Jim Jones.

Their followers will justify anything, even when the truth is staring them in the face. And when reality inevitably crashes down? That’s when the real violence begins.

The Fall of Democracy Is Happening in Real Time

The most dangerous thing right now isn’t just the power grab—it’s the complacency. People are acting like everything is fine. It’s not fine. Wake up.

Some Americans want autocracy. They want a strongman, a corporate CEO of the nation, convinced they’ll be shielded from the chaos.

To them, I say: Be careful what you wish for.

Violence isn’t glamorous. It’s bloody. It’s traumatic. And if you think you’ll be spared? Think again.

Young Black and Brown Men—Stop the Violence. NOW.

More than ever, we need to stop destroying each other.

I’m speaking directly to young Black and Brown men in America:

  • Cease all inner-city and urban violence immediately.
  • Put the guns down.
  • Stop feeding the prison pipeline.
  • Check in with the elders of your community. They’ve seen this before. They have wisdom. LISTEN.

We can’t afford to become our own oppressors. While we fight each other, the real enemy tightens its grip.

What Will You Do?

We’re at a tipping point. A slow, creeping erosion of rights is turning into a full-blown dismantling of democracy. The question isn’t whether this will happen—it’s whether we’ll stop it before it’s too late.

So, what are you going to do?

Strange times make strange bedfellows. Choose wisely.
